Hands-free Workout App
Last updated:
Amrap is a hands-free workout app for the gym: you log your sets by saying them out loud, and an AI coach talks you through every set in your ear, so your phone can stay on the bench while you lift.
How it works
Tell your coach what you need. Goals, gym setup, injuries, schedule, by voice or text. Amrap builds your program.
Start your workout and put the phone down. Your coach tells you what's next, in your ear.
Say your reps. "Did 12 reps." Amrap logs it, tracks your progress and tells you whether to go heavier next set.

What "hands-free" means in Amrap
Some apps call themselves hands-free because they talk to you. Amrap also listens and acts on what you say: you log reps, ask questions and change your workout by voice, with no tapping to talk. That's the difference between an app that plays audio and one that coaches you.
Who it's for
Lifters who are tired of grabbing their phone after every set
Anyone training with sweaty or chalked hands
People who want to keep their eyes on the weight, not a screen
Anyone who listens to music while training (the coach plays over it)
What lifters say on the App Store
"I LOVE their voice feature." — CélinePaige
"If I want to change something, have a question or a machine is taken, I just say it and it helps me right away." — Alex Rn.
How to choose a hands-free workout app
Does it actually listen, or just talk?
Many apps play audio cues. A truly hands-free app also listens, so you can log reps and change your workout by voice without tapping.
Can you log sets by voice?
Check that you can say your reps and weight and have them recorded, with no button to press first.
Does it work with your headphones and music?
The coach should play over your own music and work with Bluetooth headphones like AirPods.
Does it coach you, or only track?
Some voice apps only log. Look for one that also tells you what's next and adjusts your weights as you go.
FAQ
What is a hands-free workout app?
A hands-free workout app lets you train without holding or tapping your phone. In Amrap, you log reps and change your workout by voice, and your coach guides you in your ear.
Do I have to keep looking at my phone?
No. In Hands-Free mode your coach talks you through every set and you log reps by saying them out loud, so your phone can stay on the bench or the floor.
Does it work in a loud gym?
Usually, yes. Amrap hears you best with Bluetooth headphones like AirPods Pro in Transparency mode. If it misses something, just repeat it or type it.
Can I listen to my own music?
Yes. The coach's voice plays over Spotify, Apple Music or any other app, and you can set its volume separately.
Do I have to use my voice?
No. Manual mode lets you tap to talk or type, and you can switch anytime.
